Serving Minerva Families and Children

By connecting schools, churches and local businesses, Minerva Mission has become a network of volunteers and mentors who serve local families with programs from youth mentorship and scholarships to summer camps and family fun days.

In 2016, a group of Minerva residents came together to explore how they could serve their neighbors with greater purpose and care as local missionaries. They knew they wanted to support children and families in the Minerva Local School District, and from that vision, Minerva Mission took shape. Through partnerships with schools, churches and local businesses, the organization grew into a connected network of dedicated volunteers and mentors. Today, that shared passion continues to bring people together to give back and strengthen the community they love and call home.

To ensure this support would continue for years to come, Minerva Mission established an organization endowment fund in 2023 through Stark Community Foundation, creating a permanent source of annual funding to meet evolving needs. That foresight is already making an impact. In 2025, as the organization celebrated its 10-year anniversary, more than $70,000 was reinvested into Minerva through programs such as its backpack food initiative, care closet, youth mentoring, scholarships, a Christmas giveaway, family fun day and summer camps. By pairing long-term planning with immediate action, Minerva Mission is not only sustaining its work, it’s strengthening its ability to serve local families today and for generations to come.
