Kelly Carioti and Stephanie Carioti Mohar established the Michael Carioti Scholarship Fund in Perseverance to honor the memory of their brother and ensure that his legacy of perseverance and passion for athletics lives on forever. Michael, a Hoover High School and West Liberty University alumnus and disciplined wrestler, cherished the bonds he formed with his coaches and teammates throughout the years. Sports were integral to his life, fostering a lifelong commitment to teamwork and competition and epitomizing the "Will to Win” always.

Despite facing adversity, he overcame challenges and persevered through sports, life and his career. When Michael lost his battle to COVID-19 in 2021, his family decided to honor his memory by supporting high school students from his alma mater who exemplify the same dedication and drive. Each year, the fund provides scholarships to two North Canton Hoover High School athletes who, like Michael, defied the odds and showed resilience. The fund has already supported four students, including women’s wrestler Jordan Palmer and football player Jeremy Kish in 2023. Jordan is continuing her wrestling career while studying at John Carroll University, and Jeremy is pursuing a degree at the Ohio State University.
