Rudolph R. Vannucci Memorial Fund

A Waynesburg native and US Army veteran, Rudy Vannucci passed away in 2020 following a meaningful 30-year career teaching fourth grade math, science and social studies at Mineral City Elementary School. As part of his estate plans, this charitable fund was created to provide support to St. James Roman Catholic Church in Waynesburg and yearly scholarships to students with strong scholastic aptitude and demonstrated financial need from Sandy Valley High School and Kent State University.

Kenneth K. and Virginia D. Varian Memorial Designated Fund

Kenneth K. and Virginia D. Varian Memorial Designated Fund

The children of Kenneth and Virginia Varian created a charitable fund to honor their parents’ lifelong Christian faith and continual love of learning. In addition to their pride and joy of operating their family-owned Varian Orchards for 50 years, Kenneth and Virginia served their beloved community through countless hours of service. Their legacy will live on through this designated fund, which supports the music and Christian education programs at Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church in East Canton.

Longtime Stark Community Foundation board member Nancy Varian and her husband, Reed, established a charitable fund to honor Nancy’s family and Reed’s family and to carry on their tradition of giving back to the community. This fund will eventually be passed down to their sons, Clifford and Scott, to perpetuate their philanthropic legacy.

Dr. James Violet Memorial Fund

  • EST. 2020

Named in memory of her husband, Darlene Violet created a charitable fund to support Jim’s passions: medicine and sports. Dr. James Violet practiced orthopedics and sports medicine in Canton for 37 years and was known for being a devoted husband and father, caring surgeon, avid sports fan and traveler. This charitable fund provides scholarship support to students pursuing careers in the medical field and financial support for nonprofit organizations that offer sports, exercise and injury prevention programs.

Visiting Nurse Society Designated Fund

  • EST. 1994

This fund was originally established in 1994 as an organization endowment fund. Income from this now designated fund will benefit the Shipley Child Health Clinic and students who are pursuing a degree in nursing from five Stark County colleges and universities.

Voices of Canton, Inc. (VOCI) is the community’s premier chorale organization engaging adults in the performance of choral and vocal works in various genres. Income from this fund is used to continue their mission to celebrate vocal music through performance, using the power of "many voices" as a catalyst within the community to educate, inspire and unite.
