Timothy S. Sweterlitsch Memorial Scholarship Fund

Donor Charles A. “Chip” Paquelet created this memorial in honor of his friend Timothy S. Sweterlitsch. Income from this fund is distributed as a scholarship award to a graduate of Washington High School in Massillon, Ohio. Awardees must epitomize the personal traits exhibited by Timothy during his life, namely good academic accomplishment, good athletic ability and good moral and personal characteristics.

John N. and Norma L. Teeple - Lucyle M. Krohn Memorial Fund

John Teeple established this fund in Stark Community Foundation in honor of his mother, Lucyle M. Krohn, to benefit organizations in and around the City of Alliance.

Janet, a former teacher and fifth generation resident of Carroll County, and Stanton, a long-time Carrollton High School teacher and farmer, have established this Fund to help Carrollton Exempted Village School teachers with worthy enrichment projects in science, human ecology and agriculture for which school funding is not otherwise available.

Both local dentists and generous philanthropists, Drs. Michael and Julie Thomas created this fund as a way to give back to their community and causes they care about. This fund will eventually be passed down to their sons, Michael and Philip, to perpetuate their family’s tradition of paying it forward.

Henry and Louise Timken Foundation

The Henry and Louise Timken Foundation is a 509 (a) (3) supporting organization of Stark Community Foundation. Formerly a private foundation, The Henry and Louise Timken Foundation became a supporting organization on July 15, 1980. The Henry and Louise Timken Foundation is a charitable corporation governed by a Board of Trustees of seven members, three of whom are individuals representing the donors’ family and four of whom are appointed by Stark Community Foundation. The Board of Trustees awards charitable grants primarily for the benefit of the Stark County community and programs outside this area that are of special interest to the Trustees. The Henry and Louise Timken Foundation has been particularly important to Downtown Canton redevelopment efforts.

W.R. Timken, Sr. Memorial Trust Fund

This fund was established by the contributions of many friends of W. R. Timken as a memorial to his life as a civic leader in Canton, Ohio, and his worldwide contributions to philanthropic endeavors. W. R. Timken, former chairman, president and chief executive officer of The Timken Co., died in 1995. He helped his father form The Timken Foundation of Canton. He held various leadership roles in numerous charitable and civic organizations, and personally oversaw construction of Timken High School, one of the first vocational high schools in the United States.
