Steve and Ann Clouse and Jim and Eloise Johnson Charitable Fund

Bill and Carol Johnson established this fund as a way to honor their parents, Steve and Ann Clouse and Jim and Eloise Johnson, who all four belonged to the “Greatest Generation.” Their parents exemplified this generation’s remarkable actions, sacrifices and perseverance that made the United States a better place to live. Income from this fund will benefit organizations that support education, programming and activities in support of the urban youth in our community.

Loris and Merle Coe Scholarship Fund

Loris and Merle Coe Scholarship Fund

This scholarship has been established in memory of Loris and Merle Coe who devoted their lives to scouting, teaching and nurturing a love for nature and art. The goal of this fund is to support a Boy Scout or Girl Scout who shares these same qualities.

Gail R. and Carlton B. Coen Charitable Fund

  • EST. 2015

Formerly a private family foundation, Don and Jeanne Coen established this fund in honor of Don's parents, Gail and Carlton. This fund will be used to provide continuing support to a variety of organizations.

Ruth M. Cogan Foundation Trust Fund

Ruth M. Cogan Foundation Trust Fund

  • EST. 1990

Originally established as a private foundation in 1975 by several friends of Ruth Cogan, this scholarship fund was made part of Stark Community Foundation in 1990. The Ruth Cogan Scholarship is awarded to a “deserving student of vocal music” who also demonstrates “an inner feeling for music” as exemplified by Ruth Cogan.

Donald R. and Pauline F. Colaner Charitable Fund

  • EST. 2020

Through their estate plans, community supporters Don and Pauline Colaner created a charitable remainder trust and designated Stark Community Foundation as one of their trust’s beneficiaries. After Don, president of Hilscher-Clarke Electric, passed away in 2019, the remainder of their trust established this charitable fund to ensure their legacy of supporting Stark County would continue forever.

Russel and Henry Cole Scholarship Fund

Russel and Henry Cole Scholarship Fund

  • EST. 2013

This fund was established by Richard and Carol Hannon and the Russel and Henry Cole Scholarship Foundation to support the residents of Carroll County. Scholarship awards will benefit past graduates or graduating seniors of Carrollton High School who are pursuing a degree at a college, university, trade or technical school.

Coleman Health Services Endowment Fund

Coleman Health Services Endowment Fund

  • EST. 2017

The Coleman Health Services Endowment Fund was created to better serve those with severe and persistent mental illness and addictions, regardless of their ability to pay. Funding provides long-term support for Coleman’s suicide prevention, indigent healthcare and other vital programs that benefit many individuals and families in need. This fund includes the John Peterson Endowment Subfund, Suicide Prevention Endowment Subfund, Freeman Indigent Care Endowment Subfund and Blemaster Endowment Subfund.
