Julio C. Diaz Academic Scholarship Fund

This Fund was established by the family of Julio C. Diaz, a member of the first graduating class (l968) of St. Thomas Aquinas High School who died in 2004 at the age of 53. The Diaz family immigrated to the United States in 1962 and were among the first Cuban refugees in Canton, Ohio. Julio went on to receive a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Akron and pursued a professional engineering career in Canton and Houston, Texas. In honor and memory of his life, Julio’s family established this endowment for St. Thomas Aquinas students. In recognition of the support and assistance Julio and his family received from the Canton and St. Thomas Aquinas communities as Cuban refugees, the Endowment supports scholarships for St. Thomas Aquinas students who demonstrate strong academic achievement and involvement in community service projects.

Robert Martz DiGiacomo Memorial Scholarship Fund

Edmond and Sandra DiGiacomo established this fund to honor the memory of their son Rob, who died April 30, 1999 at age 33. Scholarship awards from the fund are made to high school graduates, residing in Lake Local School District, who exhibit commitment to excellence in academic and athletic accomplishments, exceptional moral and personal characteristics, proven leadership skills, and devotion to family.

Charles E. Feiock Advised Charitable Scholarship Fund

Charles E. Feiock retired from the Navy in 1964 as a lieutenant commander. Although he traveled extensively, he never forgot his home town of Lewisville in Monroe County, Ohio. Realizing the value of education, he established a Scholarship Fund for students graduating from high school in Monroe County. A local committee selects recipients each year.

Shirley Finney established this fund in memory of her late husband, Ken, owner of Finney Refrigeration, to provide scholarships for students who are seeking a degree in mechanical engineering or music.

Jack B. Fisher Scholarship Fund

Scholarship awards from this fund go to selected college student employees of Fisher Foods.

Thomas W. Gallagher Scholarship Fund

Thomas W. Gallagher Scholarship Fund

Established in 2003, Thomas W. Gallagher established this Testamentary Trust Fund to provide an annual scholarship for a Minerva High School graduate who has been accepted in a pharmacy degree program or course of study in the field of science.

David A. and Pamela A. Gault Charitable Fund

David A. and Pamela A. Gault Charitable Fund

  • EST. 1998

Income from this fund is to provide merit scholarships for Stark County students attending either Otterbein University or Walsh University. Recipients must have completed at least a year of study toward either a graduate or undergraduate degree and plan to pursue a career in business.
