Grant Deadline Approaching for SummerTime Kids

Stark Community Foundation is accepting grant proposals for its SummerTime Kids initiative until 4:30 p.m. on March 10.

SummerTime Kids provides grants up to $2,000 to imaginative and unique summer programs benefiting Stark County youth. Guided by a volunteer committee and Foundation staff, SummerTime Kids awards approximately $70,000 each year to fund various programs, including museum trips, day camps, summer reading programs and backpack giveaways.

To be considered for funding, eligible applicants must be a tax-exempt private agency, 501(c)(3) organization (that is recognized as a public charity) or government entity and serve the Stark County community. Preference will be given to summer programs that:

  • address behavioral and mental health needs of youth
  • help make up for learning deficits due to COVID-19
  • challenge youth to learn, grow and build character through educational programs and activities
  • engage youth in arts, culture and outdoor exploration
  • introduce youth to new experiences on area college campuses
  • reading programs geared toward improving literacy
  • fill a need or gap in a low-income area such as provide healthy summer meals and snacks and provide transportation to and from activities

SummerTime Kids grants are made possible through the generous support of Stark Community Foundation donors who want to make a difference in the community. Since inception in 1992, SummerTime Kids has provided more than $1.5 million in support of youth summer programs.
