Massillon Charitable Funds Award $26,000 to Local Organizations

Two charitable funds at Stark Community Foundation – The Massillon Community Charitable Fund and The Arthur P. Underhill and Martha Q. Underhill Charitable Fund – recently awarded $26,000 in grants to local organizations serving the Massillon area.

This year’s grant recipients include:

  • Child & Adolescent Behavioral Health – $2,000 to provide case management services to dialectical behavioral therapy clients from Western Stark County
  • Hospice of Tuscarawas County – $4,000 to provide meaningful end-of-life experiences for Western Stark County patients and their families
  • Massillon Museum – $4,000 to support a community-curated exhibit, Missing History of Massillon: Unheard African American Stories
  • Refuge of Hope – $4,000 to help homeless men transition to independence by providing bus passes and rental assistance
  • Stark County Diaper Bank – $4,000 to serve Western Stark County community partners, which require the purchase of diapers, shelving, tables, chairs, packaging supplies and inventory space
  • StarkFresh – $4,000 to expand its mobile grocery market
  • Tri County Jobs for Ohio's Graduates – $2,000 to provide dropout prevention services and workforce development opportunities for at-risk youth in Massillon
  • VANTAGE Aging – $2,000 to purchase new equipment to meet new Ohio Department of Agriculture and Ohio Department of Health regulations

About The Massillon Community Charitable Fund
Massillon Community Charitable Fund was created in 1982 when a group of civic leaders in Massillon came together to create a charitable legacy that would strengthen their community for years to come. For nearly 40 years, generous individuals, families and businesses have financially supported the fund, collectively making a difference in the Massillon area. To date, the fund has awarded nearly $240,000 to local organizations. About The Arthur P. Underhill and Martha Q. Underhill Charitable Fund
Through their estate, the late Arthur P. and Martha Q. Underhill established a charitable fund at Stark Community Foundation that would benefit Massillon organizations in perpetuity. The Underhills entrusted the Massillon Community Charitable Fund to recommend areas of support from the dollars available from their fund at the Foundation.
