Job Summary
The Marketing Specialist works closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications to develop and implement a strategic marketing and communications plan for Stark Community Foundation. This position plays an important role in designing high-quality marketing materials and writing engaging content for publications, websites, emails, social media, news releases and advertising. He/She also helps manage the Foundation’s digital marketing efforts and assists with event planning.


  • Graphic Design (40%) Assist in the design of the Foundation’s communication and marketing materials including print and digital advertisements, infographics, annual reports, brochures, invitations, programs, social media graphics and other publications
  • Content Creation (25%) Help create, curate, edit and publish content for a variety of purposes including for the Foundation’s website, social media, emails, direct mail and media outlets
  • Digital Marketing (20%) Maintain the Foundation’s website and social media presence; Assist in the development and implementation of creative and innovative ways to tell the Foundation’s story through photography and videography
  • Event Planning and Outreach (10%) Assist in the planning and execution of the Foundation’s outreach events
  • Other duties as assigned (5%)


  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, marketing, communications or related field
  • 2-5 years of professional experience in graphic design and writing
  • Creative individual with proven ability to design and write for multiple communication channels
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe design programs (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and Microsoft Office is required
  • Experience with website content management systems, social media platforms and email marketing software (Emma, Constant Contact, Mail Chimp, etc.)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with knowledge of AP Style
  • Proficient in basic digital photography and video shooting/editing
  • Self-starter who is comfortable with both taking initiative and working in collaboration with others
  • Ability to manage and successfully complete multiple projects within tight deadlines
  • Acute attention to detail and accuracy
