Major Responsibilities
The Donor Relations Associate, reporting to the Director of Donor Relations, will assist the needs of the Advancement Department by providing high-quality support to the daily functions of donor management, scholarship management and overall stewardship activities of the Foundation. In addition, and as needed, this position assists with marketing and communication projects to advance the mission of the Foundation.

Job Functions
Working with the Advancement Department consisting of the Vice President of Advancement, Director of Donor Relations and Director of Marketing and Communications, the Donor Relations Associate will implement and manage the Foundation’s advancement strategies by completing the following tasks along with other duties as assigned:

Donor Relations

  • Receive and process donor recommendations for grants following fund operation guidelines, maintain records of recommendations, perform due diligence and ensure timely communication to donors and nonprofits
  • Communicate with Foundation donors, via phone, email and in person, to answer inquiries regarding their grantmaking to ensure proper stewardship and understanding of the process
  • Assist in the planning of advancement events and fund committee meetings
  • Serve as the liaison to affiliate organizations providing administrative support, oversight of programs, events and committee meetings
  • Maintain accurate records regarding activities with donors in our Information Management System
  • Assist in developing and executing communication to donors
  • Assist in creating quarterly grant reports for the Board of Directors

Scholarships

  • Manage the Scholarship Program to ensure accuracy with data entry, reports, committee recommendations and awards
  • Serve as main contact for students, parents, donors and school officials regarding our scholarship opportunities and process utilizing effective and clear communication
  • Assist in convening scholarship selection committee meetings as needed
  • Assist in creating quarterly scholarship reports for the Board of Directors

Marketing

  • Assist Director of Marketing and Communications with the production of marketing materials
  • Assist with social media development and strategy

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Detail-oriented; diligent with tracking all donation information and actions required
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical, problem-solving and creative thinking skills
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Ability to take initiative with minimal supervision to meet deadlines in a timely manner
  • Ability to manage and successfully complete multiple projects in a team-centered approach
  • Display a high degree of judgment, discretion and confidentiality
