Learn about the generous donors who have established charitable funds through Stark Community Foundation.
Dana L. Patterson, CPA, CGMA, has been named vice president and chief financial officer at Stark Community Foundation effective July 1, 2017, following the retirement of Patricia C. Quick, who has served as the Foundation’s VP and CFO for the past 25 years.
Patterson most recently served as senior manager at Maloney + Novotny, LLC, one of Ohio’s largest full-service CPA firms. She has nearly 20 years of experience working in a variety of industries including nonprofit, government, manufacturing, real estate and commercial.
As a key member of the Foundation’s management team, Patterson will oversee the accounting, financial management, budgeting, audit, investment and human resources functions for the nearly $240 million community foundation serving Stark County and its surrounding communities.
“Dana brings with her a wealth of accounting and finance experience to the Foundation,” said Mark J. Samolczyk, president and CEO of Stark Community Foundation. “Her expertise, diverse background and broad perspective will help us continue to strengthen the impact of our investments.”
A native of North Canton, Patterson graduated summa cum laude from Malone University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration and accounting. She’s a Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Global Management Accountant and Certified Quickbooks ProAdvisor. Active professionally, she’s a member of the American Institute of CPA’s and Ohio Society of CPA’s. Patterson is also a member of St. Paul Catholic Church’s music ministry team.
Patterson began her new position on March 27, allowing for several months of overlap with Quick to ensure a smooth transition.
“During her 25-year tenure, Pat has had a tremendous impact on the Foundation as she helped guide us through a period of significant growth and service to our family of donors,” added Samolczyk. “We will miss Pat’s passion and knowledge, and wish her well in retirement.”
