Karen Soehnlen McQueen Joins Stark Community Foundation Board

Stark Community Foundation announced today the appointment of Karen Soehnlen McQueen to its Board of Directors for a five-year term. McQueen is an appointment by the Foundation’s Board of Directors.

Joining Krugliak, Wilkins, Griffiths & Dougherty Co., LPA in 1984 as its first female attorney, she now serves as a director at the firm. Her practice focuses on employment litigation and labor, representing clients throughout widely-diversified industries. A Litigation Counsel of America Fellow, McQueen’s a frequent presenter to business and community groups regarding various labor issues including discrimination, sexual harassment and family medical leave.

“Karen is a strong addition to our Board,” said Mark J. Samolczyk, president of Stark Community Foundation. “She will bring a tremendous amount of community understanding, thoughtfulness, passion and professionalism to this role.”

Active in the community, McQueen serves on the board of directors at United Way of Stark County, Aultman College and Holy Cross Academy. She also is a member of the Aultman Women’s Board.

McQueen earned Bachelor of Science and Arts degrees in economics and management from Ohio Northern University. She also graduated summa cum laude from The Ohio State University College of Law, earning a Juris Doctorate degree.

She joins other board members William R. Cook, Nancy S. Gessner, Gregory W. Luntz, Stephen A. Perry, Gary D. Sirak and Nancy A. Varian as well as Chair E. Lang D’Atri and Vice Chair G. Charles Dix II.
