Stark Community Foundation Accepting Grant Applications
For Discretionary Grants and SummerTime Kids Program

CANTON, Ohio (February 5, 2014) - Stark Community Foundation announces two grant award opportunities for local organizations; the first cycle of the 2014 Discretionary Grantmaking period and its SummerTime Kids Program.

Request for funding for the Discretionary Grants program is accepted only through our online grant application process. To access the grant application, please visit and click on the “Apply for Funding” tab.

Grants are made to: 501(c)(3) organizations in good-standing, tax-exempt private agencies, and government entities located within Stark County, Ohio only or directly benefiting Stark County. The Foundation does not award grants to individuals except through scholarship funds. Applications must be submitted to the Foundation no later than Friday, March 7th.

Applications are now available for the 2014 SummerTime Kids Program, (STK) Stark Community Foundation’s initiative that provides funding for unique and imaginative summer youth programs with an emphasis on community service.

Organizations should take note of the new online grant application process. To access the application, please visit and click on “Apply for Funding” tab. The deadline to apply is Friday, March 14th.

STK awards range between $500 and $2,000 and may be used for community service projects, fund field trips and support character building activities for school age children. Last year STK surpassed the $1 million mark in grants to the community with the announcement of the 2013 awards.
