Maxwell “Max” Hartong was a young man with a deep sense of purpose, a contagious drive for success and an unwavering determination to better himself and those around him.

In 2022, Max passed away at the age of 27 from medical complications while competing in the Miami Ironman Triathlon. His parents, Bryan and Cindy, established an endowment fund through Jacksonville University to honor their son's memory in a way that exemplified his life and encouraged others to follow in his footsteps. Join Stark Community Foundation, Massillon Museum and Greatness Cafe this Sunday as we celebrate the historic Massillon Tigers football championship!

Massillon Museum is extending its hours from 2-7 p.m., inviting Tiger fans to explore its Paul Brown Museum exhibit. Fans can stop by the Greatness Café in the Museum lobby afterward for free hot chocolate to sip and celebrate the champions courtesy of Stark Community Foundation. Cap off the evening by heading to the parade at 7:30 p.m., starting from Eighth Avenue at Lincoln Way.

A Community Christmas of Stark County, Inc. (ACC) brings joy to local individuals and families facing challenging times by ensuring they receive food, toys, clothing and more during the holidays.

Over the last 65 years, ACC has served as a beacon of hope for some of Stark County’s most deserving residents through its four core programs: Adopt-A-Family, Christmas Giving Center, Senior/Disabled Adults and Mitten Tree.
