Partnership for Private Foundations

Stark Community Foundation's Partnership for Private Foundations is a group of local funders committed to learning, sharing and growing in order to maximize their philanthropic impact in Stark County. Together, foundations leverage their efforts to engage in local issues and collectively create lasting change in the community.

Membership Benefits

Membership Fee

The cost of membership is an annual fee of $250. This payment qualifies as a charitable distribution from your private foundation since Stark Community Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity.

In addition to convening local private foundations throughout the year to discuss emerging needs and trends, Stark Community Foundation also offers the following services tailored to private foundations:

Charitable Planning

Through a unique and strategic set of giving exercises, our experienced donor relations and grants team can work with your foundation to:

  • identify your foundation's areas of interest
  • establish your giving guidelines
  • create your giving plan including charitable goals and mission statement
  • develop strategies to fulfill your philanthropic mission

Grantmaking Support

We can guide your foundation in your giving by highlighting what local organizations are making a difference in the areas you care most about. Throughout the grantmaking process, our staff will:

  • create a custom, online grant application
  • distribute an RFP to potential grantees
  • thoroughly review grant proposals
  • recommend funding opportunities
  • coordinate site visits to potential grantees

Grantee Accountability

To ensure your grant dollars are being used for their intended purpose and are having the impact you desire in the community, we can:

  • maintain a reporting schedule for each grantee
  • collect progress reports from grantees
  • schedule on-site visits to see the impact your gift is making
