12 charitable funds were established through Stark Community Foundation from January 1 through March 31, 2024.
Donor Advised Fund
Michael Buser, CEO and founder of Teleradiology Consultants, LLC, and Jacqueline DiNapoli-Buser established a family foundation to deepen their philanthropy in Northeast Ohio and beyond. Their family foundation will focus on the needs of children and the values of respect, kindness and giving. The Buser Family Foundation will eventually be passed down to their daughter, Alexandra, a teacher in Plain Local Schools, to continue the Buser family legacy of giving.
Donor Advised Fund
Dr. Steven Coss, an orthopedic surgeon, and Dr. Susan Coss, a practicing physician, created a charitable foundation to expand their philanthropic reach locally and beyond. Their foundation will eventually be passed down to their children – Catherine, Jennifer and Steven – continuing the family tradition of charitable giving and community support.
Organization Endowment Fund
Founded in 2004, the Friends of the Children’s Network of Stark County provides financial support to the Children’s Network of Stark County Child Advocacy Center, which provides a child-friendly environment with a collaborative approach to aid in the healing and pursuit of justice for children and their families coping with violence, sexual abuse, severe physical abuse and other traumas. This endowment fund guarantees continuous funding to help meet the ongoing needs of the Children’s Network.
Organization Endowment Fund
The Golden Key Center for Exceptional Children created an endowment fund to commemorate the retirement of Terry Frank, Golden Key’s co-founder and executive director. This fund will provide ongoing support for the growing nonprofit, charter, non-public special needs school dedicated to educating preschoolers through eighth graders with Autism and other developmental disabilities in Stark County and neighboring communities. A grateful donor, whose son and family experienced firsthand the life-changing impact of Terry’s support, knowledge and patience, provided the seed money to establish this fund.
Scholarship Fund
To honor the memory of Melissa, Renee, Amber and Evan, their family members came together to establish a scholarship fund dedicated to supporting the Lake Local Schools community; the district they all cherished, attended and actively participated in. This fund provides annual scholarship assistance to graduating seniors from Lake High School who have demonstrated exceptional engagement in extracurricular activities and community service beyond school—a true reflection of the values Melissa instilled in her children from an early age.
Organization Endowment Fund
Established by the Louisville Public Library, this endowment fund provides a stable stream of income to provide educational materials, technology and programming to help area residents stay connected and inspired. The fund’s initial seed money was provided by the Six for 60: Endowment Fund Challenge, a community voting challenge in celebration of Stark Community Foundation’s 60th anniversary, where Louisville Public Library was the winner of the Education category.
Community Charitable Fund
Virginia Roof established this charitable fund as a way to give back to the community. A variety of charitable organizations throughout Stark County will benefit from her philanthropic spirit.
Donor Advised Fund
Cricket Scheurer created a foundation to sustain her support for nonprofits and causes she cares about. With a community-focused mindset and ability to adapt, her philanthropic interests will likely evolve in response to the changing needs and opportunities of our society. Her foundation will eventually be passed down to her son, John (Jonathan) S. Russell IV, to foster their family’s tradition of paying it forward.
Corporate Donor Advised Fund
Solmet Group, a family-owned technology company deeply rooted in the community, created a corporate charitable fund to formalize its commitment to local philanthropy. Through the fund, the company aims to support area causes and nonprofits that actively contribute to the success of Stark County.

This endowment fund was established by The Wilderness Center in 2024 to strategically grow support for the organization’s current and future capital campaigns.
