Posted on July 30, 2020

Every year, the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank provides food for more than 200,000 people in our community through food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters and other hunger-relief partners. That number has surged because of the pandemic, and the Foodbank has been actively responding to our community’s 41% increase in food insecurity due to its difficult economic effect. This time of crisis has shown how essential the Foodbank is to feeding and proving hope for residents.

In Episode 9 of Straight from Stark, learn about:

  • how the Foodbank is serving the elderly and those at risk with food delivery initiatives
  • its involvement in drive-up distribution sites located across the community
  • plans for the new Stark County facility opening in 2021
