Straight from Stark Video Series: Episode 6 with Habitat for Humanity

Posted on July 09, 2020

While Ohio's stay-at-home order was in effect, Habitat for Humanity East Central Ohio quickly witnessed the impact the order had on families who were living in unsafe, unsuitable and unaffordable housing. How can a family shelter in place in an unsafe environment that they can't afford?

However, for the first time in 32 years, Habitat didn't know if it would be able to build houses because of COVID-19. The nonprofit recognized the heightened need for safe, decent and affordable housing and started working diligently to get back to building.

In this week's six-minute Straight from Starkepisode, you'll learn about:

  • Habitat's commitment to affordable housing
  • modified processes and new safety precautions for on-site volunteers
  • new guidelines for shopping at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore
