While Ohio's stay-at-home order was in effect, Habitat for Humanity East Central Ohio quickly witnessed the impact the order had on families who were living in unsafe, unsuitable and unaffordable housing. How can a family shelter in place in an unsafe environment that they can't afford?
However, for the first time in 32 years, Habitat didn't know if it would be able to build houses because of COVID-19. The nonprofit recognized the heightened need for safe, decent and affordable housing and started working diligently to get back to building.
