Straight from Stark Video Series: Episode 2 with Canton Palace Theatre

Posted on June 11, 2020

In our second Straight from Stark episode, hear from Georgia Paxos, executive director of the Canton Palace Theatre. The 1,500-seat venue has lost tens of thousands of dollars due to cancelled and rescheduled events. However, during these tough times, the Palace has been creative about providing entertainment through Facebook Live and raising money through curbside concessions.

In this episode, you'll learn about:

  • how the local entertainment industry has been impacted by COVID-19
  • creative ways the Palace (and other arts organizations) have stayed connected to the community during the pandemic
  • how the Palace is complying with new regulations concerning its indoor space and capacity levels
  • ways you can support and take part in the Palace’s community activities

The Palace is currently underway on a reopening plan; you can read the latest updates at www.cantonpalacetheatre.org.
