Community Responsive Grant

Organizations may only submit one application per grant cycle.
Decisions may be extended beyond the decision month.
Organizations who received a discretionary grant award in the last cycle must wait one-year before reapplying for a discretionary grant.

Review Process

Once your application is received, the Grants Administrator will process the application and will notify you by mail that the application has been received. You will also be notified at this time if your application is missing any required documentation. Once all required documents are received, the grant request is reviewed by the Grants Review Committee. You may at this stage be contacted for an interview and/or site visit. After all of the grant applications have been reviewed, the Grants Review Committee will make a recommendation to the Stark Community Foundation Board of Directors who makes the final decision. You will be notified of this decision within one-to-two weeks after the Board meets.

Canton Regional SCORE
The Foundation has partnered with Canton Regional SCORE, a non-profit located in Stark County, to provide workshops to local nonprofit organizations. Topics include structuring a board of trustees, developing a business plan, structuring a marketing plan, establishing outcomes and performance indicators, complying with IRS requirements, and financing and budgeting.

Foundations Center
The Center's mission to strengthen the nonprofit sector by advancing knowledge about U.S. philanthropy is accomplished in part through the free information and grantseeker training offered to the public at their Cleveland library/learning center. Programs are also available throughout some Stark County Library branches.

Application Instructions

All applicants will first be directed to a login page prior to accessing the application.

New applicants: please enter the email address that you would like to be associated with your account. This is where you will receive all email correspondences. Select "New Applicant?" and the system will prompt you to create a password. Please make note of your login ID (email address) and password so that you can access any saved applications and your login page in the future. Once you have logged-in, click on the link to the grant application.

Returning applicants: enter your login ID (email address) and password to begin the application process. If you have forgotten your password, click on the "Forgot Password?" link and an automated email will be sent to your email address. If you do not receive this email response, please refer to the troubleshooting tips within this document.

Troubleshooting Tips

Please note that your email account (user ID) must allow for automated emails so you can receive correspondence from our online grant system. If you are not able to receive automated emails or do not receive a confirmation email after saving or submitting your application, or after creating a new account, the proxy server settings on your email account is identifying our automated emails as spam.

Transferring Login Accounts

If an individual has left your organization that had access to application history and a new employee would like to have access to that information, please contact us and we can transfer your organization's application history to a new account. If multiple people from your organization need to access this information, we recommend you create a general email address with a correlating login to our system so that multiple people can access the information.
