Through a life estate gift Mr. Aldridge established the fund to benefit the Community Charitable Fund of Stark Community Foundation.
Josephine Allensworth provided for this fund with a trust she created in 1977. The fund is to benefit programs in Stark County that serve neglected and abused children, the homeless and hungry, and for programs that promote the care and protection of animals.
The Board used proceeds from the sale of The Alliance Area Garden Center building to establish this endowment. A Civic Trust Board of nine members makes grant recommendations for projects in the Alliance area.
The Alliance Area Preservation Society is restoring and preserving the Haines House to address the educational, historical and social needs of the Alliance community. It was established in 2004 with an initial gift from Evan and Suzanne Morris.
