Neighborhood Community and Economic Development Technical Assistance Grants

Purpose

Available to (CDC's) Canton City Community Development Corporations, and NBO's Neighborhood Based Organizations that have received their 501(c)(3).

Purpose:
To increase the capacity and expertise of local Community Development Corporations and Neighborhood Based Organizations through attending educational seminars or conferences to learn more about securing, managing, and reporting on State and Federal funds to revitalize city neighborhoods.

Criteria for funding:

* CDC and NBO 501 (c)(3) organizations must be working directly with Canton City neighborhoods to qualify for these Technical Assistance grants.

* Request letter should be sent to the Foundation at least three weeks prior to the beginning of the conference.

* Funding will be limited to two individuals (daily) from each CDC or NBO applying.

* A Stark Community Foundation NCED technical assistance application should be completed by the Director or Chairman of the CDC or NBO and must include a completed copy of the application(s) required for the conference.

* An already established CDC may apply to the Foundation for a grant to equal one-half of the amount required for registration and hotel. Food and travel/gasoline expenses will be the responsibility of the applicant.

* A neighborhood-based organization (NBO) may apply to the Foundation for a grant to cover all of the registration and hotel plus $25 per day/per person for food. Travel/gasoline expenses will be the responsibility of the applicant.
